Samarthan (www.samarthan.org) is working in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh since 1995. Samarthan is a strategic support organization promoting participatory governance through evidence based advocacy, capacity building and field actions. Samarthan has setup a Center for Social Accountability for Addressing Urban and Rural Poverty (CSAP) to focus on participatory governance initiatives of research, capacity building and innovations on the ground.

We are seeking applications of suitable candidates for the position below:

Position – Manager (Accounts & Admin)

Location - Bhopal

Roles and responsibilities would include to;

 

·         Supervise the financial operations of the organisation; Ensure timely and accurate financial reports, maintain financial information system & records.

·         Responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions like preparation of Balance Sheet, Utiisation statements, preparation of financial MIS for each project etc. 

·         To orient and ensure donor compliances with respect to financial reporting and statutory matters like PF, Income Tax (DTC), TDS, GST, Professional Tax and Gratuity etc;

·         Ensure adherence to Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) matters and submission of report to MoHA.

·         Training, guiding, and monitoring of accounts and programme teams on systems and documentation related issues in the area of Accounts and ensure proper documentation. 

·         To fully computerize the payroll system and develop a system with the help of PMU for Assets, Salary allocation, etc. 

·         To provide induction on financial matters in accordance with financial management manual to new recruits

·         Prepare organizational annual budget and budget for the projects/proposals to be submitted to the donors

·         Undertake field visits for monitoring and financial audit of field programmes of organisation

Admin

  • Prepare financial and governance related documents for the Board meetings and provide regular update to the board members as per organizational requirement
  • Supervise HR systems and administrative functions of the organization
  • Ensure efficient management of the training Centre in Bhopal and Raipur

 

Qualifications:

·         Inter CA / M Com / MBA (Finance) with more than 7 years of relevant experience in NGO. CA/ICWA/Law would be an added advantage.

·         Good knowledge of computer - Windows and Microsoft Office applications especially Ms Excel. Should have working knowledge of Tally ERP Accounting Package

 

Compensation levels at SAMARTHAN are considered good within the development sector. However, offers shall be based on salary history, relevant experience and qualification.

Position : Programme Manager- Sustainable water management

Location -     Sehore/Bhopal /Raipur

Roles and Responsibilities

Managerial roles

  • Develop strategic plan and proposals  for promoting sustainable water management for selective areas
  • Develop capacity building material and organize trainings  for barefoot water engineers
  • Document experiences for wider sharing and replication of experiments

Technical roles

  • Undertake engineer surveys, prepare engineering drawings and cost estimates for all land based interventions.
  • Provide technical guidance in the selection of appropriate sites and convince community and Watershed Committee members
  • Preparation of technical design and estimates for DPR proposal
  • Provide technical assistance to the PIA team and WC members in construction of watershed structures
  • Monitoring and supervision during construction of structures
  • Maintenance of measurement book and other relevant documents 

Qualifications and Experience

         Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering/ Agriculture Engineering with an experience of at least 2 years under watershed, rural development, natural resource management

Or

Diploma in Civil Engineering with experience of at least 4 years in watershed, rural development, and natural resource management

        Any other qualification like MBA or certificate course in relevant area will be an additional qualification

       Compensation: Salary for the position will be around 6 lakh per annum depending on the experience and qualification.

SAMARTHAN-CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

Samarthan Center for Development Support, Raipur Office has entered into an agreement with the Project Director ISSNIP (PD-ISSNIP), Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Chhattisgarh, Naya, Raipur for implementation of activities of innovative concept “Nutri-click” under IDA assisted restructured ICDS Systems Strengthening and Nutrition Project (ISSNIP) on purely temporary basis (initially for 6 months which might be extendable for another 6 months)

Center Director Number of positions- 1, for Location Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

1. MBA in HR or Post Graduate Diploma in Health /Hospital management with at least 8 years of experience with Government PSU or UN organisation at managerial / programn ability management level.
2. Singnificance experience working with the Government Sector will be preferred.
3. A proven ability to supervise the work of social workers and other professionals and managers strongly prefered
4. Demonstrate the ability to communicate , coordinate and build relationships with government and media
5. Demonstrate diplomacy in professional and cross cultural settings
6. Fluency in English and Hindi (oral and written) Regional language

Senior Nutritionist – Number of positions- 1, for Location Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Preference will be given to women candidate.
• Ph.D./MPhil/MSc /BSc in Nutrition/PGDHM with 5 years of post-qualification experience in nutrition projects is essential (In a case of Ph.D. candidate the post qualification experience would be two years).
• The experience of working at the State level on similar assignments in close coordination with Government Office will be preferred.
• The experience of working with Women’s Groups led initiatives. Should be aware of the functioning of the National and State specific schemes on Nutrition.
• Should be aware of the functioning of the National and State specific schemes of Women and Child Development Department and Health Department.
• Skills and knowledge on RDA pertaining to women, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children 0-3 years.
• Knowledge of computer applications and comfort on relevant software (Word, Excel, Power Point, other presentation software) is must.
